Session Information

Join us at the DHIS2 Annual Conference for an engaging session on "Emergency Response," where experienced presenters will showcase their firsthand experiences and successful utilization of DHIS2 in emergency settings.

This session will provide valuable insights into the practical applications of DHIS2 during public health emergencies, highlighting its role in enhancing data collection, analysis, and decision-making. Presenters will share their experiences with DHIS2 in various emergency scenarios, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving response efforts.

The session will cover a range of topics, including an introduction to collaborative surveillance for health emergency preparedness, response, and resilience by the WHO Health Emergencies programme. Presenters will delve into specific case studies such as Uganda's experience leveraging a mature integrated disease surveillance platform in DHIS2 to actively respond and contain the most recent Ebola outbreak. DHIS2 was used for signal management and supporting data collection and analysis among emergency response actors.

The Ukrainian Red Cross and Norwegian Red Cross share their experience deploying DHIS2 Tracker for Mobile Health Units in Ukraine to continue delivering primary care services during the conflict. Partners HISP Pakistan and the UK Health Security Agency share their experience using DHIS2 to stand up emergency disease surveillance for water-related diseases during the floods that ravaged large parts of the country in 2022. Finally, the HISP Centre provides an overview of its strategy to support countries using DHIS2 in emergencies and improve features for aspects such as rapid response team rostering.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn from experts in the field and discover how DHIS2 can empower emergency responders with timely, accurate data to make informed decisions and effectively mitigate the impact of emergencies.
